A really picturesque sail in past the Stockholm
archipelago in the very early morning hours. I bought a new camera yesterday on-board,
a Nikon P900. I really don’t need it now
but with its’ equivalent zoom of 2000mm, it will come in handy for my 2020
Grand Africa safaris…. I
thought today would be an excellent time to test it out... so all the blog
photos of Stockholm are with my new P900. Being our third trip to Stockholm
with bus/subway day passes in hand, we easily found our way to the Gamla Stan,
Stockholm’s Old Town. From here, we left Gamla Stan Island and crossed the
Vasabron Bridge to Kungsholmen Island to visit City Hall...again, I climbed the
Tower for great views of Stockholm and try out the powerful lens on the new
camera...It was a beautiful day for the climb and to walk around town...we
returned to Gamla Stan and took in all Stockholm has to offer visitors from
beautiful medieval buildings, gorgeous views and more shops than you can
count...from there we strolled to the Stortorget Square, along the narrow,
twisting alleys and cobblestone streets of Stockholm's oldest quarter...we
spent the last of our Swedish Kroner before returning to the ship. I was able
to get some lovely photos of the city from the aft deck of the ship.... Today,
the ship had an ideal parking spot much closer to the city center and with
great views. Later in the evening, our views from the Pinnacle Grill were great
leaving Stockholm via the archipelago while we enjoyed another excellent Sel de
Mer dinner. Wishing my Canadian friends, a Happy July 1st Canada Day!!! Another wonderful day in Sweden. Just loving every day!
