We were off the ship first thing and our friends Gisela
and Chaz were waiting for us. It was a great reunion as we had not seen Gisela
and Chaz since the 2016 World Cruise. We had a special day touring Halifax,
Mahone Bay, Lunenburg and Peggy’s Cove. Our first stop was the Halifax Citadel
Fortress, the 215-year-old Town Clock and a with a view of the city...then we
drove to Terrence Bay, the site of the 1873 White Star, SS Atlantic Disaster
Memorial when 562 persons perished. Next we drove to Mahone Bay, a quaint
seaside town with the three churches and then onto the town of Lunenburg, a
UNESCO World Heritage Site and home of the Blue Nose sailing schooner. From
here we made our way back to Peggy’s Cove, with its iconic Lighthouse. Gisela
and Chaz had us back to their home for a delicious lobster dinner...Chaz again
puzzled us with his magic skills. We had a wonderful day with great friends in
Nova Scotia. This is my last posting of this incredible and memorable journey
and I would like to thank everyone who made it possible. I really love the Zuiderdam, its Officers and
Crew!
