I took some sail in photos this morning before leaving the ship. The ship was parked downtown Castries at La Place Carenage cruise terminal…in the center of town. There is always a scrum of tour and taxi hackers trying to sell their wares. We decided to tour around the downtown streets visiting the beautiful Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and capturing the beauty of some old buildings in the area. From here we visited the Central Market, a much friendlier reception this trip. We walked around the harbor to Pointe Seraphine cruise terminal, stopping at the fishing boat dock. We looked around the cruise terminal and returned to downtown Castries and back to the ship. Returning to the ship, we spent the day in the Retreat. We were invited to a private St. Lucia sail away party in the Retreat for the scenic cruising along the Soufriere passing the famous Pitons. We have been blessed to have met a wonderful group of friends traveling together from Pennsylvania, headed up by a great guy, Joe Pupa. We feel like we’re part of the family. They alone have made this voyage one of the best!! Captain Timmers did a splendid job maneuvering the ship for great views of the Pitons from any vantage point on the ship. It was a gorgeous day in St. Lucia.
