Amber Cove, The Dominican Republic...

This morning I slept in but did go to the Retreat to have breakfast. I got off the ship did my walk long walk in the port area and met Ann and Cathy. It was quite crowded as we were in port with the Carnival Mardi Gras full to capacity with 6300 passengers and our mere 2600. Cruise friends Wanda and Carlton messaged us that they were on board the Carnival ship…we met up ashore…we had a nice catch-up and got to meet their children and grandchildren. Returning to the ship, we spent the remainder of the day in the retreat. I went out on the outer decks to capture our beautiful sail away from Amber Cove, just love the scenic views..  The five President Club members who have been onboard since January 14, 2023 and will be disembarking the Rotterdam on March 18, 2023. Captain Werner Timmers and the Hotel General Manager, Wessel van Oorschot held a President’s Club farewell cocktail party in our honor and private dinner in the Canaletto. It was an absolutely wonderful evening visiting with the staff at the cocktail party, our food was delicious topped off by a very comfortable family dinner atmosphere. We    miss our Rotterdam family…

  1. Dinner and the celebration was a lovely thank you and “goodbye until we see you again” from the on board staff. It looks like everyone enjoyed the evening!
