Klendijk, Bonaire...

We got off the ship soon after the crowds died down and made our way past Fort Oranje to the town square and then walked along the waterfront promenade towards Eden beach. There are many interesting sites, like homes, the harbor, boats and the legendary Karel’s Beach Bar on its own pier right downtown to see along this part of Kralendijk. We walked towards Eden Beach arriving at Goto Meer, Bonaire’s landlocked saltwater lake…we could only see a handful of flamingos walking around. Turning around at the Eden Beach we headed back to town. Today, we walked the back streets of town and came upon some nice street art. In the town square, the local street vendor was busy preparing Indonesian food for sale to the ship’s crew. We spent the remainder of the afternoon in the Retreat. There will be no sail away photos from Bonaire today as our departure is scheduled for 8pm.  I may start packing tomorrow in preparation for our transfer to the Nieuw Statendam to meet up with my sister Lisa and her husband Jim…  very exciting
