Charlotte Amalie, Saint Thomas, US Virgin Islands...

I went up the top deck of the ship to take some photos of Charlotte Amalie, Saint Thomas, USVI before we got off the ship…  Such a lovely place.   We walked to town along the scenic harbor front, feeling the heat of the day even early in the morning... It was quiet Sunday morning downtown, most shops weren’t even open yet!  Not a problem, I wasn’t in the market for any jewelry. We toured around the back streets taking a turn at the Rothschild Francis Market Square, to the area known as the Savan. This area of town is one of the oldest developed neighborhoods in Charlotte Amalie with a long history and beautiful architecture. We were able to visit a few streets but we were told by a local that Main Street was all we needed to see so we decided to make our way back to  the downtown shopping area…the area had a bit of a gang presence…another off the beaten path adventure! On our return to the ship, we stopped at Fort Christian and went back to Havensite Mall, stopped in a few shops and returned to the ship. I spent the rest of the afternoon in the Retreat. It was a beautiful day in St. Thomas. Once we began to pull away from the dock, I headed out for some scenic photos as we sailed away…  Just a beautiful sail away as we departed Saint Thomas.
