A tactical error on my part… I got up very early (5:30 am) to take sail in photos and went out to find nothing but darkness and fog! IT was very disappointing to say the least!!! After breakfast, we three amigos left the ship to tour around Ensenada. The cruise ship pier is within walking distance to the downtown area so off we went. On my last trip, although closed, the McDonalds WIFI was incredibly fast, so we headed in the direction of McDonalds and found it open and were able to complete updates iPhone IOS updates (1.5Gb). While doing our computer maintenance at McDonalds, at 10 am the fog lifted and we were off to explore the streets of Ensenada in beautiful sunshine. We did some browsing, exploring and made our way to the Malecon. Most port cities in Mexico have paved sea paths that hug their coastlines. These sea paths are known as the Malecon are thriving centers of activity for both locals and visitors, Ensenada is no exception. We strolled along the Malecon stopping at the fish market, past vibrant outdoor booths hawking souvenirs, taco stands and fresh seafood restaurants – all with great views of the Baja’s rugged Pacific coast. Returning to the ship we went to the Retreat for the remainder of the afternoon. I was able to capture sail away photos as we were leaving Ensenada on our way to San Francisco. This evening we will attend the Captain’s Welcome Toast before dinner. Looking forward to a relaxing Sea day in the Retreat….
