San Francisco, California Day 2...

I had read that one of the top photo opportunities in San Francisco was from the wooden platform of Pier 7 towards Transamerica Pyramid Building…so this morning we headed out to seek out this opportunity. We made our way along the south side of the Embarcadero very close to the Bay Bridge that goes to Oakland and Berkeley. We stopped at Cupid’s Span, the partial bow and a 60-foot-tall piece of an arrow sculpture. On our return, we stopped at Pier 7 and got the photo of the Transamerica Pyramid. Between Pier 1 and 2 we passed through the Ferry Building Marketplace, a public food market that features a variety of food stalls and restaurants. Once back at the Cruise Terminal we decided to continue to on the Embarcadero to Fisherman’s Wharf along San Francisco’s waterfront stopping at Pier 39 to capture the amazing views and a large group of sea lions. Pier 39’s location provides the picture-perfect backdrop for postcard views of the Golden Gate and Bay Bridges, Alcatraz, Angel Island and the famous city skyline. We made a quick stop at Boudin's, another San Francisco institution. Boudin's is the original creator of sourdough French bread as well as the oldest bakery in the city of San Francisco. Returning to the ship, the rest of the afternoon was spent in the Retreat. It was another great day in San Francisco….
