We spent a lovely evening at BB King chatting with Farah, the Captains’ wife, so we went to bed quite late. I got up at 6:30 am to be out on deck to take photos. Much to my surprise, we were still over an hour away from Aruba…the captain later, made an announcement that at the request of the Dutch Antilles Coastguard, the ship had been called on to support the rescue of three passengers from a fishing boat in trouble in rough seas…hence the reason why we were an hour late arriving in Oranjestad…This was not an issue for us, happy the ship could assist. This morning we had an appointment with the future cruise staff planning our 2024 European adventures. Unfortunately, the European schedules still hadn’t been released so off we went into Aruba… As usual, we did our regular route through downtown on our way to waterfront walkway looking for iguanas and other creatures. I found some interesting Chitons that look remarkably like the extinct trilobites. The iguanas were plentiful today, just loving those iguanas... Cathy and I checked out the stores and I splurged on an early Christmas present for myself, another new Tommy Bahama shirt. Returning to the ship we spent the afternoon in the Retreat. We saw that the European season had finally been released so off we went to see the Future Cruise Consultants to book the next adventure… It will be a great one!!!! Stay tuned…
