Amber Cove, Dominican Republic...

Last evening, we had an excellent dinner in the Pinnacle Grill with Captain Eric Barhorst and his lovely wife Farah.  After dinner, we stopped by the Orange Party going strong in the BB King's Blues Club. It was a very pleasant evening! Today is just what I love, Christmas Eve in a warm climate….  Amber Cove, Dominican Republic, is a Carnival Corporation private resort destination located on the bay of Maimón, 7 miles northwest of Puerto Plata. This private retreat is exclusively offered as a port of call to cruisers with the Carnival and umbrella companies. The cruise port is crammed with watersports activities, dining opportunities and shopping. Our sail-in to Amber Cove was unbelievably smokey, not ideal for photos. By the time we got off the ship at 8 am the smoke was starting to clear a bit.   Today, we were in port with the Costa Pacifica…a Princess ship, the Island Princess, was anchored outside the harbor stopping for what appeared a medical emergency. We did a tour of the port area, took photos and we were back on the ship by 09:30 am. The remainder of the day was spent in the retreat discussing our plans for Europe 2024. Wishing all my family, friends and followers a very, very Merry Christmas.
