San Diego, California...

Here we are again in San Diego….  It was a lovely day to come out and see the wonderful Zuiderdam parked next door…  Such a great ship, loved the 8 ½ moths I spent on her in 2018-2019. Ann, Cathy & I will join her in two weeks….  Just finished up my 10^th voyage on the Koningsdam ( 2 remaining) and it was a bit sad, our resident Comedian, Jason Russell, finished his 10-week contract and went home with his lovely family.   Ann, Cathy & I got lucky and had the pleasure meeting Jason’s family today.  Jason was the first person I met on the 10^th of October when I arrived for the ribbon cutting ceremony to open up the Koningsdam for sailing.  I religiously went to his shows every cruise and had many laughs and found a good friend along the way…  He will be missed greatly.  We are so happy that he is back with his beautiful family and hope to see him on another Holland America ship soon.  As for my day, I went out and got a nice 8 mile walk in before returning to the ship to hand out in the Retreat.  The Scott sisters went out and received their COVID 19 Booster shots…  Yeah!!!  We had a special treat this afternoon, Seth Wayne, the Holland America Brand Ambassador came over from the Zuiderdam and we had a lovely visit in the Retreat…  He does such a marvelous job!  I went to the sail away which was lovely, as usual and then it was off to the Canaletto Restaurant for dinner with Ann, Cathy, Pauline and Mike….  A little BB King’s Blues Club, Casino and blogging….  What a night!  And what a sunset!!!!  Just magnificent...  Looking forward to a relaxing day at sea tomorrow.
