Puerto Vallarta, Mexico....

Well now, I did not get much sleep last night, just happens sometimes…   It was not a good morning for photos either, the early morning was dark and, very smoky…by my photos you can see the fires in the distance sending a thick smoky haze across the entire greater Puerto Vallarta area. The air quality was certainly not in our favor nor was the all clear by the Mexican Health authorities. After many hours of deliberation between our crew and local inspection authorities it was decided to cancel our call to Puerto Vallarta…. We were just fine with that decision, we are going to limit our activities from this point forward, until we transfer to the Zuiderdam the 2nd of January…  We will stay onboard until the 2nd with no port visits.  After this many Mexican Rivera Voyages, we won’t have missed much.  Just an ounce of caution...  I’m not worried about getting sick, just worried about getting a bad COVID test result, bringing our sailing to a big stop, at least for a while. It was a beautiful day to be at sea and we enjoyed the Retreat. At sea tomorrow, the clocks go back one hour tonight so hoping to catch up on some sleep.

  1. Hi Jeff, Merry Christmas and wishing you and your friends a Happy and Healthy New Year.
Finally getting caught up on your adventures thus far. Seems like the weather gods have been kind and Martin provided some interesting exploration. Nice to see The World, she's amazing.
Sad that Covid and its variants are still very problematic. Glad you are being cautious and pray all stay well.
Enjoyed all the street art and sculptures as well as your many other photographs. Wishing you smooth sailing ahead and continued good times aboard the Zuiderdam in January.
