Cathy and I left the ship early and followed the “Blue Line” through the historic old district of Mazatlán to the Machado Square and our friend Martin was waiting for us. The Day of the Dead decorations have been replaced by Christmas ones. Before taking our Pulmonia ride, we walked some of the streets in Old Mazatlán looking for wall art and different sites. Our first stop on the tour was on the Malecon at the Belmar Hotel an old-style Mexican Hotel. We even were invited into someone’s home, depicting an old style Mazatlán home. It was filled with memorabilia and photographs of the history of Mazatlán… Again, our concentration was on old buildings and sites in old Mazatlán ending at the Cathedral and Independence Square. Returned to the ship and spent the afternoon relaxing in the Retreat. It was a wonderful day…
