Mazatlán, Mexico... Part 2 of 3

I had decided to stay on the ship this week but yesterday, I received sad news about the health of a friend Paul from Australia. Paul and his wife Sylvia look forward to my blog so this spurred me on to get out and take some photos. Cathy and I left the ship early and followed the “Blue Line” through the historic old district of Mazatlán to the Machado Square. Again, we met Martin, our Pulmonia driver from last week and arranged a tour. Before the tour we walked some of the streets in Old Mazatlán looking for wall art and interesting sites. Our first stop on the tour was to visit the Cathedral and Independence Square. Today, we changed things up and headed to see visit the commercial shrimp fleet. At the commercial port, Martin arranged for me to board some shrimp boats to get some photos, it was quite the workout climbing between the boats. For an added adventure, Martin arranged for tour of the shrimp packing factory dressed in rubber boots and hair nets. It was a nice day. Returned to the ship and spent the afternoon relaxing in the Retreat….  Great day!!!!
