This morning didn’t look like it was going to be the best of days…I was out for sail into Puerto Limon, and it started to lightly rain… Before I knew it, I had to take cover because it was just pouring. After the rain subsided a bit, I went back out and snapped a bunch of photos. I just love taking photos after the rain, the wet scenery looks so rich in color. By the time we got off the ship the rain cleared, and it was a hot and humid day. We went first to Balvanero Vargas Park and spotted the sloths in the trees. Next, we followed the sea wall around the waterfront and took some photos. A bit rundown due to the many earthquakes that have hit the area, Puerto Limon does have some fascinating architecture and colorful open-air marketplaces. Every time we stop in Puerto Limon, we make it our mission to go to the market looking for hot chiles for the Indonesian crew. We scoped out a couple of markets today and were able to buy 2 kilos of Habaneros for the crew…Fresh Sambal tonight with dinner! Then it was back to the ship where we relaxed in the sun…the heat index was around 100F again it was very hot and humid…the perfect recipe for a storm! We packed it up early as there was a storm a coming. The clouds were quite menacing. As I sit here working on the blog, it is raining quite heavy. Tonight, we are having dinner in my favorite restaurant, the Tamarind, with our friend John Chalkley from Australia... Should be a great evening. Tomorrow is a sea day, followed by Grand Cayman and one more sea day after that to wrap up this cruise. I’m thinking of skipping Grand Cayman and just making it three sea days… Sounds grand!
