I was up early for sail-in photos… The sun wasn’t giving me the best lighting, but I knew I could do better at sail away which was very early today, 2:00 pm. Captain Timmers made good time and we were in quite early. Cathy and I left the ship at 7:30am…we walked around the Grand Turk Cruise Port, got in some walking, visited some shops, snapped some photos and we were back on the ship by 9 am. A little-known fact is the island of Grand Turk played a part in the 1962 Mercury Space Mission. John Glenn’s first step on dry land after returning to Earth was on Grand Turk. We stopped at the memorial to John Glenn featuring a statue, a replica of the Friendship Seven space capsule, and informative plaques. We spent the rest of the day relaxing in the sun. Another beautiful day in paradise! Off to the Half Moon Cay tomorrow…Loving every day!
