Philipsburg, Sint Maarten...

It was zero dark thirty when we arrived in Sint Maarten this morning…the sail-in photos were a severe challenge. Our last visit was December 30, 2022, on the Nieuw Statendam, and now a new year with a new ship is upon us. Busy day in Sint Maarten with 6 ships in port….and we were rewarded by the largest cruise ship in the world, Royal Caribbean’s 6988 passenger Wonder of the Seas…there is not a chance in hell that I will ever be a passenger on that ship! Cathy and I were off the ship as soon as we were cleared to beat the crowds. We did our usual walk along the beach to downtown…. Along the way, we saw a group of goats just hanging on the edges of rocks, it was mesmerizing…  Workers were busy restoring buildings, the main pier dock and overall cleanup from the effects of Hurricane Ian. We did not linger downtown, got our walk in and returned to the ship. The weather looked like rain, but the clouds dissipated to blue sky and we spent the rest of the afternoon in the Retreat. It was a hot and sunny day!!!  Another lovely day and stop in Sint Maarten….
