Today’s sail-in photos and approach to Sydney Harbor were affected by waves of dense fog and a low ceiling. Sadly, I was unable to capture what is normally beautiful scenery and lighthouse sailing into Sydney. We were joined, once again, by the Zaandam, becoming a common thing, we’re together for the next two ports as well… Our friend Laura picked us up this morning for a tour of the area. On the lookout for lighthouses, we headed to Baddeck. Baddeck is a picturesque, vibrant little village right in the heart of Nova Scotia’s Cape Breton Island set on the shores of the Bras d’Or Lakes. One of the very cool thongs in Baddeck today was coming across a couple of eagles, would have liked to get a wee bit closer but it was great nonetheless… The weather was so cooperative today as we had more fog and rain but we made the best of our time in Nova Scotia’s Cape Breton Island. We returned to Sydney, had lunch and thanked Laura for another great day in Cape Breton. I decided to capture some photos as we sailed out of Cape Breton to make up for this morning… I got some nice photos, much better than the foggy morning. I got some good looks at the Low Point Lighthouse which made me very happy. Tomorrow, Halifax, Nova Scotia…
