Fort Lauderdale, Florida...

Here we are back in Fort Lauderdale…  As many of you know, my friend Cathy tested positive last week for COVID-19.  Her sister Ann & I had to be tested for 5 days which really was 6, so today was our big finale.  Ann & I both tested negative so that guillotine hanging over our heads for the last 6 days is gone. Unfortunately, Cathy tested positive, so she has to do the full 10 days of quarantine.  She will be released on the 8th.  After our testing, we had to do a zero-balance clearance which was, once again, a bit of a sham as we cleared Immigration yesterday in Key West…this morning we again were trucked to the Customs Hall only to be turned around and put in lines to get back on the ship…. So, the whole exercise just involved walking in a big circle and then standing in a room packed with over three hundred people waiting for the last passengers who weren’t anxious to get off the ship.  The joys of sailing back-to-back cruises.  This week the ship will sailing 2500 passengers…  I went out for the sail away and the entire outer decks were packed with people.  Our departure was delayed for some reason, but we were eventually off and running….  Grand Turk, here we come!
