We left Riga for Tallinn, Estonia making a stop in Sigulda to see the Turaida Castle. The Medieval Castle ruins are located on the edge of the Gauja Valley in Latvia. The original castle was built in 1214. We walked the castle grounds and climbed to the viewing place in the main tower, we could see the unique landscape of picturesque Gauja Valley and the territory of Turaida Museum Reserve. After a 3.5-hour drive through both the Latvian and Estonian countryside we arrived back in Tallinn where we will rejoin the ship in the morning. A nice touch was being met at the hotel by Moonika, Jayway’s Baltic Destination Manager. It has been a fabulous 19-day trip and we have nothing but great things to say about Jayway Boutique Travel, the company we used to help us organize this journey. Jayway did a fabulous job meeting our needs and more than exceeded our expectations from our US Content Specialist to the Eastern Europe Destination Managers, all the drivers and the guides...many thanks for a trip of a lifetime.
