Wow, what an amazing city...we arrived in Prague. We
really had no preconceived idea of what to expect...a photographers delight
with over the top old-world charm. Our hotel Metamorphosis located just off the
Old Town Square is a former 12th century medieval hostel and the breakfast room
was a medieval cellar...following our check-in, we started meandering the
narrow streets of Prague’s Old Town, Old Town Square and making our way over
the Charles Bridge to the Little Town Quarter...the streets were very crowded.
The following morning, we were met by our Guide Renata for a walking tour of
Prague...leaving our hotel we walked a short distance to the Tyn Church passing
Ungeit Square to the Powder Tower. Passing the Old City Wall and Municipal
House we entered New Town to Wenceslas Square. We made our way back to Old Town
Square to St. Nicolas Cathedral, I went up Town Hall Clock Tower while the
ladies watched the Astronomical Clock perform the noon day glockenspiel
show...from here we took some back alleys and came out at the Vltava River for
some different views of the Little Quarter and Castle Quarter. Next, we crossed
the Charles Bridge and toured Little Quarter, Kampa Island before stopping for
lunch at the Kolkovana Olympia restaurant...here we met our Jayway Host Martina
for a delicious local lunch. We decided to go up to the little Eiffel Tower to
get some panoramic shots of the city...walked to the funicular for a ride to
the base of the Tower...great photo opportunity from the top. We headed towards
the Prague castle, stopping at the Stravhov Monastery...from here we made our
way back to the Charles Bridge...Jayway gave us a lovely cruise on the Vltava
River...what a wonderful city...we had an excellent time in Prague.
