Fort Lauderdale, Florida...

This morning we were up early and were off the ship in lightning speed. They are using facial recognition technology at Port Everglades Pier 26, so it certainly facilitates your clearance through Customs and Border Protection…gotta love that technology. Due to the quick clearance process, we were an hour early for our pickup. We used the time to visit with some friends Rosie and Randy who were on their way home. The St. John’s left the ship today and will be spending the next few days in a quarantine hotel until they fly home to California on February 23, 2022, John’s 80th Birthday. Our friend Laura kindly came to fetch us and off we went to run some errands. We had our standard off the ship lunch at 5 Guys today.  It was was compliments of our New York City friends Esta and Stu…thanks again for the gift cards lunch was delicious. On our return to the ship, we spent part of afternoon in the Retreat…there was very little sun, so I decided to work on an upcoming blog post. The skies cleared for sail away photos and I was out snapping away…  Had a great dinner at the Canelletto this evening. Another week begins… this time we are headed to the Southern Caribbean Islands of Aruba and Curaçao. Looking very forward to meeting our friends Ellen and Aart in Curaçao…it has been way too long!  I miss them every day….
