2025 Volendam, Quebec City, Quebec, Canada...

My blog today begins last evening while we were having a cocktail party on the aft deck as we sailed away from Montreal…  I had to include a few photos of our gathering of amazing friends and the beautiful departure.  It was really great for the three of us to be back together with our friend, Florin Dragomir, our HGM.  This morning, I slept in…  no sail in photos coming into Quebec City.  As a matter of fact, the ladies and I had planned to get off the ship at 9:30 am as opposed to the normal, first off…  Took it easy!  We had the perfect docking location today in Quebec City just steps away from Lower Quebec known as Petit Champlain.  Ann, Cathy and I started our walking tour of this UNESCO World Heritage site.  Old Québec is the most intact fortified town north of Mexico, retaining its colonial architecture for over 400 years. It is the historic and cultural heart of Quebec City, and the birthplace of French North America.  We wandered through Petit-Champlain, down cobblestone streets lined with stone tin-roofed houses.  Next, we took the funicular to Dufferin Terrace flanked by the iconic Chateau Frontenac.  We walked the narrow streets to the Notre Dame Basilica and visited this beautiful church.  Passing the City Hall, a former Jesuit College we made our way to the National Assembly the seat of the Quebec government.  From here we headed back to the ship meandering through the concentration of charming little streets and historical buildings. When you’re on foot, it’s easier to slow down and spot the details and admire the surroundings.  We had a great tour and the weather was stellar such a beautiful day.  Today, was a sit in the sun afternoon on the aft deck.  It is nice to be back touring with the ladies. As I worked on my blog, later in the afternoon, I couldn’t help myself and took a few more photos of the spectacular colors…
