Volendam 2025, Sydney, Nova Scotia...

Today was a big day for me…  My plan for the day was to visit the Zuiderdam which was going to be in port with us…  The odd thing about today, we were tendering.  That’s a first for me in Sydney, Nova Scotia.  The sail into Sydney Harbor was beautiful, as usual.  The tender ride went smoothly, even got some nice reflections photos on the way in. I had a few minutes before I was scheduled to be onboard the Zuiderdam so I did a bit of shopping.  Henk Mensink, the Hotel General Manager met me at security and it was great seeing him again.  We headed off to his office and his lovely wife Christel arrived and it was a fantastic reunion of friends that have sailed the globe many, many times together.  They have been such great friends for so many years, and I am excited for them as then enter the retirement phase of their lives in a few days…  Well deserved!!!  I was also excited to see my friends Kimberly Wells and Tracy Reyes.  Such a wonderful reunion!!! Again, I am just so excited for the upcoming retirement of Henk & Christel…  I hope they have many years of adventure, health, happiness, and excitement!  Someday, somewhere, I hope to reconnect with these wonderful friends and share in their retirement memories…
