Milestone Celebration!!!

Last night was certainly one of my most memorable evenings I have experienced in all my years sailing with Holland America Line.  I hit a pretty big milestone yesterday, 3650 days sailing on Holland America Line ships…  The day started with the captain making an announcement early in the morning, just before 9:00 am to announce the milestone achievement.  I was on the outer decks taking photos when I heard it…  Needless to say, I was speechless.  What a lovely way to start my day in Cabo San Lucas.   To commemorate this event, the staff on the Koningsdam were kind enough to have a surprise celebration in the Tamarind Restaurant with cocktails with many of the officers followed by dinner with the senior officers, headed up by our Captain Arno Jutten and his lovely wife Nataliya.  Also in attendance was Hotel General Manager René Tuinman and his incredible wife Judy Shepheard, Staff Captain Marin Miskovic, Chief Engineer Gerard Hijmans, and Environmental Officer Paul Baldwin.  The evening was just a huge success, certainly makes me feel part of the family.  It certainly was a huge surprise which I really touched me…  I feel so blessed….
