Bimini, The Bahamas...

Due my lessons I learned on my last visit to Bimini, that we sail directly into the sun, I slept in…  No early morning sail in photos today! Cathy and I walked the Bimini pier to main road to rent a golf cart for our island excursion. The weather was just perfect. This Bahamian District is known as Ernest Hemingway’s favorite escape and for a reason; the area is a popular tourist destination. During Prohibition in the United States, Bimini was a favorite haven and supply point for the rum-running trade. Bimini is famous for its pristine beaches, fishing activities, snorkeling experiences and also the famed Bimini Road, people believe to be the remains of the legendary Lost City of Atlantis. Local legends suggest that the mythological Atlantis lies submerged beyond North Bimini in the shallow waters off of Bimini where divers can observe the symmetrical slabs known as Bimini Stones. Many believe that the Bimini Stones may have been a road leading into Atlantis. When we rented the golf cart today, we were cautioned about the spring breakers who have invaded the island…nary a siting…surprisingly both Radio Beach and Beach 360 were vacant…maybe be due in part to how early we were out and about. We spent the remainder of the afternoon in the Retreat. Our Cabana Butler’s, Joma and Noel, posted a happy birthday sign and had a cake for Ann’s Birthday as we will be on land for her birthday on March 11, 2022. Another wonderful day! This is our last stop before we disembark the ship tomorrow for a 3-day hiatus in a Fort Lauderdale hotel due to a special event being held on the ship. We will return to the Rotterdam March 13, 2022.

  2. Do you have to vacate your room? (i.e. remove all your "stuff"?)
