2020 Grand South America & Antarctica Voyage, Transiting the Panama Canal, Part 2 of 2

It was a stellar day for transiting the Panama Canal…  It was nice and sunny all day.  Actually, I got a little fried around the edges.  I never tire of seeing one of the great engineering feats of mankind.  We approached the Gatun Locks around 7:00 am and we exited around 3:30 pm.  At the end, it’s always nice to see the magnificent skyline of Panama City, one of the best!  Great day!!!!

  1. Jeff,

Thanks for the photos and narrative, beautifully done as always. That photo taken on the ship’s front deck in front of lettering proclaiming the 2020 South America Grand Cruise gave me a déjà vu moment. Ten years ago this month, in an identical spot on the Amsterdam during the 2010 World Cruise while going through the Panama Canal, you (one of our dinner tablemates) handed me a card with your blog address. So, I have been following you adventures ever since. Once again, many thanks for sharing!
