The time approaches for a new adventure....

In 4 days, I will be flying to Ft. Lauderdale to board the ms Koningsdam.   I will sail away to the Caribbean for 63 days on the Koningsdam....  Just a heads up.  I am not sure how much blogging I will be doing from the Koningsdam.  My main goal is to relax and let my shoulder injuries heal.  On top of that, I'm really not sure how much of my time, effort and money  I want to spend on blogging.  I will blog some, but probably not daily as I am prone to do.  I'm not sure that the interest level is high enough to warrant the time and effort.  The Veendam voyage to Cuba and the World Voyage is a different story, I believe the interest level is high enough to put in the time and effort.  I am so ready for the voyages to begin!

  2. Jeff,
You are an amazing person. Thank you for inviting Ann and I to join your blog for another one of your adventures. This year just relax and enjoy the sun. If you post every few days with the beautiful photos you take, we understand. In each of four months we traveled with you, we averaged about $1,900. each time on HALs World Cruise internet system. You are doing HAL the favor by promoting their cruise line....they should pay you a "Top Diamond Member" for helping them......Oh, well!

Jeff, on a separate note, what is the story on your shoulder? Hope it is nothing too serious. Also, have you ever checked out the list of the "Travelers' Century Club"? Their official list is 325 countries and territories. Their motto is : "World Travel: The Passport to Peace Through Understanding"!

    Your 'vicarious learning' friends,

    Ann and Morrie Doyle

  4. Dear Jeff

Great to know you will be blogging again. My personal interest in the Koningsdam is huge because it is one of the few HAL ships I haven't sailed on.
I've been following your blog for many years and it has always been at the top of my bookmarks, the first thing I look at in the morning!

Best wishes on your next grand adventure. Hoping that the sea air helps your shoulder!

Looking forward to all your posts!

  8. Really glad your sailings are here! It seems like it has been a long time since the last WC ended. It is also fully understandable on cutting back on posting, we appreciate anything you provide. Hope the shoulder injuries heal and have safe travels!

  9. Jeff, what happened to your shoulder? So glad you are going to do some resting. Does your "Tan Man" chair get stowed on the Amsterdam awaiting your arrival? Just because you don't always hear from us, doesn't mean we are not there enjoying every darn minute of the blog. Pictures of the Koningsdam ship and crew will be appreciated.. Bon Voyage and safe journey to Ft. Lauderdale. Beachlady

  11. Jeff.....

It will be interesting to hear how you like your near-new-ship Koningsdam's digs.

Curious..... when you do six months ship-board, does your daily time clock regimen change much (e.g. sleep in more than at-home)?

Me thinks you ought to consider writing something. Let your mind wander. Maybe a Deck 2 aft strange noise mystery, some piano-bar romance thrown in, with plenty of fun mix of odd passenger development. Begin with a diary and see what gels.
Who knows? For instance.... returning from the interrupted 10-day off-ship safari, I could have sworn that that the quiet bearded man who rarely spoke re-boarded with a different woman; was she a twin? When I danced with this, or was it the other woman, the delicate half-leopard tattoo was high on her right bicep. And, too.... now this woman only drinks diet Coke. But wait, strange thoughts are happening in my stateroom certain nights, too! Take it from there, Jeff.....
Have mucho fun, and remember, Jeff .... 32 minutes a day on your new novel. This board will buy the first printing.
