So far my journey could not have started any better… I had a very smooth flight yesterday and it was topped off by two lifelong friends picking me up at the airport. Jack Hembrough and I have known each other for almost 60 years and his wife, Candy almost as long. It was just great seeing them! They deposited me at my hotel, and we made plans to get together today and explore a little of the area. Our first stop today a was Rockport! Rockport, Massachusetts, is a charming coastal town on Cape Ann, known for its rocky shoreline, picturesque harbor, and historic New England character. Its iconic Motif No. 1, a red fishing shack overlooking Bearskin Neck, is one of the most photographed landmarks in the USA. It was just wonderful to see this lovely town, especially for me since I have been occupied with less interesting things for the last few months… I had an overwhelming sense of freedom, getting back into my normal lifestyle… Words can’t do it justice!!! Our next stop was Gloucester… Gloucester, Massachusetts, is a historic coastal city on Cape Ann, famous for its fishing heritage, scenic harbor, and beautiful ocean views. We stopped for a wonderful, relaxing lunch by the water. Then we went off to see and admire the iconic Fishermen’s Memorial. We then drove along the coast as we made our way to Cambridge, where Jack & Candy live. We relaxed there for a spell, which gave Jack a bit of rest after dealing with so much traffic. After a nice visit. They brought me back to the hotel. It was just the most wonderful day!
Jeff, you are looking so good! Don’t forget to get some rest as you recover! Great start to a wonderful trip..
