2025_26 Oosterdam, Scenic cruising Glacier Alley, Patagonia, Chile...

We departed Punta Arenas bound for Ushuaia with scenic cruising in Glacier Alley, a stunning section of the Beagle Channel in Patagonia, Chile. Beagle Channel is a 150 milelong strait in the Tierra de Fuego archipelago in the southern tip of South America.  I was out at 7 am and rained most of the time on our journey through the channel. Also, Glacier Alley is a short stretch of Beagle Channel, that showcases 5 tidewater glaciers, named after European countries (Italy, Romanche or Spain, Germany, Holland and France). This alley is famous for its dramatic glaciers that flow from the Darwin Ice Field into the sea creating spectacular landscapes of icefalls, waterfalls, and deep blue ice.
