After leaving the Antarctic on December 30, 2025, we made a short stop in Ushuaia to disembark two guests due to a medical emergency early New Years morning. We then returned south to Cape Horn. As we got closer to Cape Horn, you know exactly why it was a place that had struck terror into the hearts of sailors for so many centuries…The winds and swells were fierce. Cape Horn is actually one of a series of tiny islands hanging off the furthest tip of Tierra del Fuego archipelago of southern Chile. Cape Horn marks the northern entrance to the Drake Passage and the meeting point of the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. We got pretty close to the islands to see the lighthouse, chapel, and the Cape Horn Memorial, a sculpture of a flying albatross. Now heading north to Ushuaia, Argentina… Off on another adventure in the morning… Happy New Year!!!!
