I was out about 5:30 am to set up for our last day of the Antarctic Adventure for this cruise…Believe me, the wind was brutal, the sky overcast with a few sprinkles of rain but I was prepared for every type of weather. On our approach to Admiralty Bay on King George Island we passed the Henryk Arctowski Polish Antarctic Research Station. Today we cruised in Ezcurra Inlet with its dramatic glaciers…At least in this bay we were semi protected from the fierce winds. The scenery inside Admiralty Bay is absolutely stunning, the dramatic glaciers and abundance of wildlife…it is difficult to describe the stillness and pristine beauty of this area…The highlight today was definitely the calving from the glacier which I caught, frame by frame. Returning towards the Bransfield Strait the captain circled the bay passing the Peruvian Machu Picchu, Brazilian and Ecuador Research Stations. Due to time restrictions and incoming weather concerns we had to forego Maxwell Bay and head toward our next port of call Stanley in the Falkland Islands. With the exception of the brutal wind chill the weather turned out to great. That is a wrap for our second adventure sailing around this magical white continent.
