Well, what do you know… Here I am back in San Diego! Sadly, my dear friends Leslie & Handler went back home to Texas today. I will certainly miss having them around. Despite San Diego being a wonderful place to visit and explore, I decided to chill onboard after going through Immigration Inspection. A day filled with sunshine and relaxation… and walking, of course! Lots going on in San Diego today... During San Diego's Veterans Day celebration, the presence of naval ships in port adds a distinct and meaningful touch to the festivities. The U.S. Navy often showcases active-duty vessels, allowing the public to tour these impressive ships and gain insight into military life. Events typically include ship open houses, where veterans, families, and civilians can learn about the capabilities and missions of the ships... I could see the crowds of people coming and going, loving their Veteran’s Day festivities. The ships in port serve as a poignant reminder of the dedication and service of those who have defended the nation. As a veteran, I love how the community honors their veterans. After a relaxing day, I went out for the sail away and with the setting sun, the colors across the city skyline were just magnificent. I just kept snapping away. The end result, too many photos but oh well… I can live with that! This evening, I went to a cocktail party for the higher lever Mariners onboard and got a lovely photo with the Ladies of the Koningsdam, what a great group of talented officers… Loving every day here on Koningsdam!
