I have been waiting on this day for a long while…. Ever since I talked with my friend Ian
Paterson and he informed me that he would be joining the Zuiderdam starting
January 6th for 73 days, the excitement has been building. Even the Scott sisters decided that they too
will be joining February 27th for three weeks while Ian is here…. Ian has been going through a very difficult
time after losing a simply magnificent woman, his bride of 53 years, Carole
Spence Paterson…. Her loss has been so
deeply felt by some many of her friends and family. She was a treasured friend of mine, and I
feel her loss every day. It’s a time for
healing and hopefully, we will be able to support Ian with lots of love and
understanding. So happy his daughters
suggested that he join us here on the Zuiderdam…. Today was a great day…. We found time for smiling and laughter, something
that, understandably, has eluded Ian far too much since we tragically lost Carole.
