Today we got back out on the road again early to continue exploring the Grand Canyon. We went back to Desert Drive to see some areas where yesterday's conditions weren't ideal because of the fires. We went all the way to the end, Desert View where the Watchman's Tower stands. The conditions were much better today. We explored many areas snapping away with our cameras. It was a very rewarding morning. This afternoon we wnet on a bit of a trek... We headed down the South Kaibab Trail to a place called Ooh-aah view point which is about 1.8 miles roundtrip dropping from 7,260 ft. (2,213m) to 6,660 ft. (2030m). It was a strenuous hike but the view was worth it... As an added bonus, we saw several California Condors... Rare to see since it is an endangered species. We did see a few other critters today. several deer and squirrels... Love the critters.... Tomorrow morning we head out early to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon where we spend one night before heading for Page Arizona and Lake Powell. The internet service at the North Rim is very, very bad so the North Rim post may get done in Page. Great trip so far, hope everyone is enjoying following along.
