We spent our day in the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia. I was out for photos as we sailed into Ushuaia. Had my hands full after posting a blog this morning for the scenic photos of Glacier Alley… busy day! Hold on to your hat’s folks…We did something different today and took a Ship’s Shore Excursion. The excursion was a catamaran boat tour from Ushuaia. The narrated trip took us into the waterways of the Beagle Channel, past Bird Island, where many bird species congregate, including a large colony of cormorants. We then cruised around Sea Lion Island, a rocky outcropping that is home to a large number of South American sea lions. This catamaran was excellent for photo opportunities. The last area we stopped as was The Enlighteners Lighthouse. Lucky for us, off the lighthouse point we spotted a humpback whale who put on a show. The weather was great, it was sunny, no clouds or wind. An all round very good tour and fabulous day.
