Our last day in Amsterdam and we decided to take a quick trip to Delft. We always love visiting there… We took the train from Amsterdam Central Station and arrived in Delft one hour later. We found our way to the Windmill and then along the canal to the Koornbeurs House, Delft’s oldest house, Waterboard House and the Old Church. Weaving among the canals and alleyways, we found the Market Square with the stunning City Hall, New Church and Bell Tower…I climbed the bell tower for a great panoramic view of the city. Next, we went to the lively square known as the Old Animal Market and visited the lovely Marie Van Jesse Church. We made our way over picturesque canals back to the Delft Station for our return to Amsterdam. We had a great day in Delft, definitely a very nice area of the Netherlands. Tomorrow, we join the Zuiderdam for our 21-day Viking Passage cruise…so that’s a wrap for touring the Netherlands for this trip…we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Holland and train travel is the way to go…so efficient! Looking forward to seeing some great friends on the Zuiderdam!
