Zuiderdam Viking Adventure, Ålesund, Norway...

I was out on the deck very early on this chilly, foggy and misty day but the scenery is still magnificent…one of my favorite sail-in ports ever! Pity we could have had nicer weather.  We got off the ship and headed to up Mount Aksla, the town's very own mountain for a terrific view of Ålesund and surrounding islands from its summit. Returning to town we walked around the waterfront to admire the unique architecture that sets Ålesund apart from other Norwegian towns. I made a stop at theÅlesund Church, a lovely little spot with a beautiful interior and stone exterior. We stopped coffee and had the best ever homemade donuts. We got lucky today, the rain held off for us. We were in port with the Nieuw Statendam today and had the pleasure of seeing some familiar crew friends. Loved our Norway stop…
