Last night was a lovely evening here at Cape Canaveral… I walked the outer decks admiring the lovely scenery at night and checking out the divers, working tirelessly to install the thruster on the Zaandam. It makes walking the deck an interesting experience. Today, after a restful night, was a relaxing day in Cape Canaveral…I spent the day getting my walks in, soaking up the sun and waiting for the planned Atlas V launch. Ann and Cathy returned the car rental, did a Walmart run and were back on the ship to spend time with Vlad Dragomir. Vlad is the son the son of Florin, the Hotel General Manager. We have known Vlad since his time with Holland America. We are very proud of Vlad to have followed his dream of becoming a pilot and is now finishing his Master’s at Emery Riddle University in Daytona, Florida. After waiting all day, Atlas V launch was a go… The United Launch Associates (ULA) famed Atlas V 501 rocket left Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 2:06 PM. ULA Project Kuiper successfully launched Amazon’s Project Kuiper satellites. This evening we are having dinner in the Pinnacle with the Pauline and Mike Hall to wish them farewell as they leave us tomorrow in Fort Lauderdale. Another hot sunny day in Florida and enjoying our time on the Zaandam.
