Grand South America & Antarctica Voyage, Fort Lauderdale...

Today was turnaround day in Fort Lauderdale and the start of our 73-day Grand South America & Antarctica Voyage. Ann and Cathy got off the ship to run some errands. I did the zero balance count and was back on the ship before 10am….this has not happened very often in the past!…the efficiency and organization of the Zaandam staff is top notch. After clearing Immigration, I spent the day in the Florida sun. We attended the sail-away party, however heavy loading because of length of the voyage caused a delay in departure. Around 7 pm, the lines were released to set sail and I was ready to take photos when the lines were pulled and we went back to the dock due to a medical debark. We are looking forward to getting this voyage underway with the great crew on the Zaandam.  Here’s a look at our itinerary:
