Well, originally, we were going to Cap Cana, Dominican Republic but…. the weather wasn’t conducive to tendering operations so the Captain came up with a port change, La Romana. This is a new port for me so I headed out this morning to see what it had to offer. The visit was interesting but it was not a place I would care to visit again. Movements here were tightly controlled by the police to the point where there basically were just a few streets where tourists were allowed. I am used to traveling the back roads and streets less traveled so I was less than thrilled. All that aside, I did have a nice long walk touring the city before returning to the ship.
