I took an American Express tour today, ‘Exotic Port Louis & Pamplemousses’….. In the morning we began the tour by going to the Historic Marine model shop factory. Interesting place, the make some amazing replicas of historic ships. My friend Aart, who collects historic models, would have loved this place. Next, we went to the Grand Baie shopping area. This was not a particularly good stop but I did pick up and item or two. Next we went to a former sugar factory that has been converted to a museum and restaurant. First we toured the factory and then had a wonderful lunch. I was also luck to catch a mongoose scampering along the fence…. From there we went to Pamplemooses where we toured the botanical gardens…. That is included in part two…. Great day!
