2025_26 Oosterdam, Puerto Madryn, Argentina...

It was a mid-morning arrival into Puerto Madryn so as usual was out on deck for panoramic sail in photos. Puerto Madryn, Argentina, is a seaside town located only a stone’s throw from the Peninsula Valdes and right in the middle of one of the largest whale breeding bays in the world. The town borders the waterfront with its beaches and restaurant-lined promenade facing Golfo Nuevo Bay. We got off the ship not long after docking and headed to town.  Making our way through the downtown and commercial area, we walked to Plaza San Martin.  This central square is flanked by the City Hall and Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. We walked along the back streets and then along the waterfront promenade taking in the sites. The weather was sunny and warm so I returned to the ship to my lounge chair on the aft deck…this was my last chance for catching a few rays for some time.  Walking back to the ship along the port pier, I was lucky to capture some of the marine wildlife.  Another enjoyable day in Puerto Madryn.  Next up, The Falkland Islands…
