2025_26 Oosterdam, Montevideo, Uruguay...

I got up at 5:30 this morning to get some nice sail in photos as we made our way to Montevideo… Montevideo was founded by the Spanish in 1726, it grew as a key port and trading center, becoming the capital in 1828. The capital is located on the country's southern coast at the mouth of the Río de la Plata. It's the nation's political, economic, and cultural center, known for its blend of historic colonial architecture, modern buildings, and a laid-back beach atmosphere. Beautiful skyline!  The plan was pretty simple today; we held off leaving until 9:15 this morning to let the morning rush get ashore before heading out.  We just had a nice walkabout and did a bunch of shopping…  Then it was back to the ship for a bit of relaxation poolside to catch a few rays…  Lovely day!
