Well the internet on the ship is a disaster, I am in a Peruvian Market trying my best to post. I don’t know if I will have any connection in the coming days. I will be looking for the press releases for who is getting fired at Holland America and Harris Corporation for this abysmal failure of an internet system. Back when I was in the IT business we had a little trick we would use…. Test it before you deploy it!
Sounds like the Healthcare website.
ReplyDeletesounds and looks like a great tour... glad you got thru it a-ok.. feel well
ReplyDeleteas for the ship's satellite internet here's the Harris Corp Press Release if you hadn't seen it in all its glory.. 5 year contract from Oct 2013... what a nitemare.. and I thought that the ship's internet couldn't get worse.. yikes.. hope they fix it

Jeff....
ReplyDeleteRE. the ship's internet system: sounds much like the ACA (Obamacare) website that attempted a kick-off October 1st. But guess you missed all that fun while at sea. The govt canned the big Canadian software outfit.
There's another cruise blogger aboard the Amsterdam who hasn't posted since 1-11-14. She's likely caught up in the ship's IT misery. See her site: http://gowithme.net/
Your Lake Titicaca excursion was some of the best. Hard to believe the place is at 12,000 feet no less. Great job, Jeff!
With the IT down, you can spend time composing one succinct letter to the CEO of CCL. Maybe their stock will take a hit from its highs. At least, ask for free computer time.
Have fun.

Fabulous pictures. You can't get pictures of our human race such as this any where else in the world. And I have never seen pictures of the people of Lake Titicaca that show such interest and emotion. Thanks you Jeff. Hope that you are feeling better.
