Day 22 Kobe, Japan

What a difference a day makes….  Yesterday was picture perfect and today got a bit soggy at times.  Our scheduled departure has been a subject of intense review by the Captain and his staff the last couple of days because of the typhoon activity.  The latest is that we will remain here overnight and leave at 5:00 in the morning.  WE will not be going to Naha, Okinawa but instead to Nagasaki, Japan.  Tomorrow will be a sea day and could be a bit bouncy with the weather conditions.  That’s all part of the adventure….  Today, I went out to explore Kobe with Bruce & Sandy and Marianne.  We first took the monorail to the Sannomiya Rail Station.  We then headed out on foot to see the Ikuta Shinto Shrine.  It was fantastic!  It was highlighted by some ceremonies involving small children dressed in traditional clothing.  The place was just beautiful!  Then we headed to the 24th floor of the City Hall for some scenic views.  Despite the rain we explored some parks and shops, including Chinatown.  It was a fun day with friends….

  1. Thank you so much for your blog post tonight - made my day - especially the pics of those beautiful children in national dress. How delightful! As an aside, hubby and I found out just a couple of hours ago that we are about to become grandparents for the first time so your shots of the little ones were so timely and precious. Thank you.
