Day 29 Fort de France, Martinique

Just because the port isn’t the best doesn’t mean you can have a great day…..  As I mentioned before, Martinique never has been a favorite but we had a fabulous day.  I did my normal front deck photo shoot as we sailed in and the went ashore.  If it weren’t for the blog I would have stayed on the ship but….. photos must be taken.  Anyway, the weather wasn’t so great when I went ashore, a bit of rain here and there.  I walked the city for about 1 ½ hours and then headed back.  Then it was poolside for the remainder of the day.  The pool was packed, as usual, for the afternoon.  I hung out with Allan & Sandra and visited with a couple of new friends Tim & Robert…  It was a great afternoon.  Tomorrow it’s back to St. Thomas….  I am not sure what I will do at this point…. 5 ships in including the big one, Oasis of the Seas.  Way too many people.

  1. Jeff, glad you made the effort to capture this fascinating place in photos - Great photos of the historic architecture, which I love!!! Is the statue of the lady (white wall behind her) the Empress Josephine? Can't quite read the signage....

    Thanks,
    JL :-D
