A day in the Rockies....

Today we went to the mountains...  Drove up through Boulder Canyon up past Nederland to Eldora checking out the beautiful scenery.  Then we headed off to Black Hawk and Central City, old mining towns converted into gambling mecca's. We then headed to Idaho Springs, a favorite stopover of mine and my friend Jack Preston when I lived in Denver.  We would always stop off at the Buffalo Bar after a day of skiing for a late lunch and a cold drink.  Those were great days....  I can hardly believe my friend has been gone for 20 years now... so sad. It was however a nice trip down memory lane.  Then, it was off to see the Buffalo before heading back to Denver.  This evening it was dinner with Allan & Sandra giving me one last chance to catch up with my friends before heading home Wednesday.  Great day!

  1. Dear Jeff,

I am really enjoying your trip.

The pictures of the Rocky's west of Denver and Bolder really bring back memories of when we visited my Grandparents in Bolder in the 40's and early 50's

    Thanks again,

    Bill Hobart

  2. Jeff,

Thanks for sharing those wonderful photos of your trip through all those States. How many miles did you do altogether? What type of cameras do you use, as the photos are really incredible.

  3. Over 4000 miles... I use a Nikon D300s and a Nikon D7000 with either a Nikon 18-200mm or 55-300mm lens. I just addded a Tamrom 18-270mm lens. Sometimes I use a Nikon P100,
