Day 49 Rabaul, Papua New Guinea (Part 1 of 4)

What an amazing day!!!!  I love this place…  We sailed in this morning to some amazing sights…  first there were all the volcanoes then scores of dolphins escorted us in.  I took over 400 photos just as we sailed into the harbor, that’s a record.  Rabaul was destroyed by volcanic ash in 1994 and seems to have made a slight comeback since.  I went out with Brad and John this morning.  We hooked up a taxi for the day and headed out to the markets first…  the people are very friendly and loved to have their photo taken.  From the markets we headed out to Matupit Island.  Here we got close up looks at the Turaqunan Volcano which is still active.  We also stopped to visit a bit with the village people and also visit the hot springs.  Nice morning…..  The rest will continue in parts 2-4.
