2025 Volendam, Rockport, Maine...

Today,  I was once again up at daybreak to be ready for the lighthouses…Not too bad as we gained an hour last evening.  I was able to capture the majestic West and East Quoddy lighthouses and endless scenery along the way.  Eastport is the easternmost city in the continental United States.  We had a late arrival into Eastport and had to clear US Immigration formalities before departing the ship.  We walked along the waterfront and through the historic district, seeing landmarks like the Mermaid statue and the Fisherman Statue. We continued to the breakwater where lobster boats and scallop trawlers set out each morning to work.   It was nice to just meander through town to see the interesting old homes.  The highlight of this walkabout in the residential area was walking amongst a family of deer…they certainly were not afraid of humans almost like pets.  We made a stopped at the flower garden I had visited on my last stop in Eastport…fall is taking its toll on the flowers.  We headed back to the ship for lunch.  There will be no sail away photos leaving today as we have a President’s Club dinner hosted by the captain this evening.  I am excited for our stop in Portland tomorrow as I am going to visit the Apple Store to pick up my Apple 17 Pro Phone.
